Have you installed the drivers for the USB modem ?
Have you checked you are getting connection lights on the USB modem. If you have no lights then it may suggest that your PC isnt seeing the modem. In which case as previously stated try installing the appropriate driversBaz
Thanks for the replies Steve, BazI have made sure the drivers are installed. The modem appears in the taskbar so must be recognised by the system.Any other ideas ?
Could you give me a screen dump of your IP settings.Go to command prompt and do ipconfig /allbaz
Ive amended my original post to include IP settingsLooks like there is def no connection as the modem is not showing an IP address
Your def not going any connection to the USB modem, try removing modem restarting the computer and reinserting When your PC starts the modem just click the Internet icon and it should invoke the connection screen. Add your username etc.. and remember settings. You should be fit to goDaniel
Have you checked your firewall settings and made sure that your firewall isnt blocking your modem for accessing the internetIain
Paul,Iain may have cracked it I suspect it may be firewall issue !Now why didnt I think of that doh !
yup I'd second that think Iain probably has cracked it with the firewall settingswell done matehope you get it fixedDavid
Thanks guys. It appears my problem was a firewall issue and once i'd allowed the connection to the internet I am now back onlineThanks for the help
Glad you got it fixed Steve
